New representatives of the UK Alumni Board and the new Global Alumni Council for the University have been announced following recent elections.

The elections closed earlier this month with over 700 votes on a total of 37 nominations.

Operations Manager Faith Osiobe (MSc Global Human Resource Management 2011) and Strategic Consultant Phil Wilton (MBA 2013) have been elected to the Global Alumni Council.

“I am delighted to accept the position on the board and humbled that our alumni have put their faith in me. Having acted as a representative of our current students for nearly two years I am excited to be taking on the next challenge of creating an active and relevant Alumni Board, encompassing our ambitions and global perspective”.

Changes

Also joining the UK Alumni Board is Mike Halliday (MSc Eng Electrical Engineering & Electronics 1988), who is the owner and founder of loss prevention consultancy Halliday Stack & Dewhirst Ltd. Mike, who is also the Chair of Liverpool and North West Regional Group for the Society of Chemical Industry, said:

“I am currently involved with the Chemistry Department helping to present the ‘Kickstart’ event for students on behalf of the SCI and I am delighted to have another avenue to help and support the University”.

Last year a number of changes were made to the University’s Statutes and Ordinances relating to Court and Convocation.

In addition to the UK Alumni Board, which provides representation for UK-based graduates of the University of Liverpool, the new Global Alumni Council was established to provide representation for alumni across the globe.

The Council will share best practice in alumni relations activity across the world and provide feedback on University matters relating to alumni and the Institution’s wider global community.
