Nominations open for Women into Science and Engineering (WISE) Awards

Nominations are now open for the annual Women into Science & Engineering (WISE) Awards which celebrate female talent in science, technology, engineering and manufacturing (STEM).

WISE aims to increase the gender balance in the UK’s STEM workforce, and add 1 million more women to the UK STEM workforce.

The University is a member of WISE.  Staff and students can join as individuals for free to access benefits such as invitations to events, opportunities to raise profile, make useful contacts and receive information on employment and scholarship opportunities in STEM.

There are a number of different award categories which individuals and organisations can enter including Research Award, Employer Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.

The majority of the awards are only open to women, however some are open to men, for example, the Inspiring Young People Award.

Individuals and organisations can self-nominate or be nominated by others. The deadline for nominations is 9am on 17 August.

The full criteria for the Awards and details of how to enter are available at the website: www.wisecampaign.org.uk/about-us/wise-awards/2015-wise-awards/nomination-criteria
