Getting ready for Welcome Week

More than 9,000 new students will be arriving on campus next week to enjoy a packed programme of events, talks and activities for Welcome Week 2015.

The Welcome Fair will take place from 10am until 4pm on Thursday, 24 September and Friday, 25 September in the Liverpool Guild of Students building. Both new and returning students can find out how to get involved in all that university life offers and what societies, sports, activities, events, and volunteering opportunities are available throughout the year.

New students will already have received a Welcome Week timetable which lists key departmental events and have been encouraged to attend the Vice-Chancellor and Guild Welcome Session at the start of the week.

Guild events

Over the week, the Guild will play host to acts including, the Pigeon Detectives, comedian Sean Walsh, and a ‘paint party’ with Danny Jones. The Welcome Week Ball on Saturday, 26 September will feature Lethal Bizzle and a DJ set from Sub Focus.

Welcome Week wristbands, which give access to all the events taking place over the week, are available via the Liverpool Guild of Students website.

The London campus will host a series of events during Welcome Week, including welcome talks, information sessions and a welcome drinks reception.

International students

The International Support Team Orientation takes place on Monday, 21 September, helping international students adjust to their new university life and meet new people before academic studies begin.

From Saturday, 19 September Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) collection will also be available for international students.
