Vice-Chancellor Professor Janet Beer’s inaugural lecture A Life in Letters is now available to view online.
Professor Beer delivered her inaugural lecture this week, exploring her academic interests in American literature and the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Edith Wharton.
A Life in Letters took place at the Central Teaching Hub in recognition of Professor Beer’s appointment to the University earlier this year.
Professor Beer has an established record of research in late 19th and early 20th century American literature and culture and contemporary Canadian women’s writing. She has published widely in these fields and most recently completed a study of the writing of Edith Wharton.
