Professor becomes President of British arm of major international politics organisation

Professor Jon Tonge from the University’s Department of Politics has been appointed President of the British Politics Group of the American Political Science Association (APSA).

Founded in 1974, the British Politics Group has hundreds of members and is one of the largest national groups within APSA. Created in 1903, APSA is the largest political studies organisation in the world.

More than 7,000 members attended its annual conference in Philadelphia this month, at which Professor Tonge was made President of its British Politics division
