University of Liverpool Management School MBA graduate, Rahul Pushp has been named one of 30 global Influential Leaders for 2016 by prestigious business education network, AACSB International.
Co-Founder and Director of i-Solarlite, Rahul was honoured at a special ceremony in Minneapolis as part of the AACSB Influential Leaders Initiative. The programme seeks to recognise business school graduates from across the world that make a positive impact on society, and inspire others.
Eco friendly
i-Solarlite is a company aiming to replace traditional but dangerous methods of lighting, such as candles or kerosene lanterns, with eco friendly solar lamps.
Rahul said: “It has been a very enriching experience receiving the AACSB Influential Leader Award 2016. i-Solarlite is progressing strongly towards the goal of affecting more than 1.5 million lives over the next two years. My thanks go to the Management School and all those faculty members who made this day possible. The recognition from AACSB means a lot to all of us.
“At i-Solarlite, we take pride in electrifying the lives of the off-grid population in the developing world. To date we have improved the lives of over 300,000 rural people in countries like India, Nepal and across Africa.”
Rahul and his fellow Influential Leaders operate in 15 industry sectors, from social enterprise, to healthcare to technology, across eleven countries, and were recognised for representing five trends identified by AACSB.
The first is pushing the boundaries of business through innovation and technology; followed by advancing education and employment through entrepreneurship; fostering diversity, inclusion and equality; creating a more sustainable future; and finally, ensuring healthy lives.
Management School Director, Professor Julia Balogun said: “The Management School is absolutely delighted that Liverpool MBA, Rahul Pushp has been chosen to be part of AACSB’s 2016 class of influential leaders, following our nomination earlier this year.
“We are extremely proud of Rahul’s success. We recognise in him the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership that we seek to develop in our MBA students, and also the embodiment of our School mission of ‘Learning to make a difference’. Through his enterprise, Rahul is truly making a positive difference to thousands of lives in rural India.
