Liverpool International College celebrates its graduating students

Students from Liverpool International College (LIC) recently celebrated the completion of their course at a special leavers’ event, one of seven such events held between April and September.

In the most recent event on 10 August, 178 students successfully met the terms of their progression criteria and are now eligible to join the University of Liverpool in September. Students were congratulated on their achievements by Dr Elaine Cranenburgh, LIC Link Tutor and University Lecturer in the School of Life Sciences, and received their exam results.

At the leavers’ event in May, Deputy Vice Chancellor Patrick Hackett attended the celebrations and congratulated students on their courage and dedication to learn in a different country, culture and language.

Dr Said Alsulimani, Cultural Attaché from the Oman Embassy, also visited campus in May to celebrate with the 34 Omani students who studied at the College. The students, who are sponsored by the Omani Ministry of Education, plan to study degrees in Engineering, Health Sciences and Computer Science.

The next cohort of approximately 100 students will complete their programme on 24 August. Their success will be celebrated with a similar leavers’ event.

Liverpool International College

Liverpool International College, one of the largest embedded colleges in the UK, offers pathway courses in partnership with the University. Students who complete their programme and meet the progression criteria are eligible to progress to the University. Students who do not meet the marks required to progress to their chosen Liverpool degree will either be offered an opportunity to re-sit or will receive counselling from LIC staff as to their options for progression to other universities.

2017 is the College’s 10th anniversary – the occasion will be celebrated with a number of collaborative events and initiatives for staff, students and alumni from Liverpool International College.  More information about the 10th Anniversary of the College and stories of its graduates from across the 10 years can be found here.
