Win a big cat encounter at Knowsley Safari Park

If you’re a fan of big cats or rhinos, you’ll love this prize! Join the zoo keeping team for a day at Merseyside’s Knowsley Safari Park with an interactive animal encounter.

The one-day prize involves meeting the animal team specialists before driving out on safari to get up close to the rhinos or big cats. Once at the enclosure, you can help the team to clean or feed the animals and learn about their lives. The prize also includes entry to the park for the day which includes amusements, keeper talks and animal displays as well as the animal safari.

To be in with the chance of winning, all you need to do is enter the National Student Survey. The survey, which closes on 30th April, gives final year undergraduate students the opportunity to share their views about their experience at University and should only take 10 minutes to complete.

The prize

If you enter the National Student Survey, you’ll go into our prize draw and could win one of the following prizes:

  • A £200 Red Letter Days voucher: You can spend the voucher on an experience; anything from a ride in a hot air balloon through to a Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour or the animal encounter at Knowsley Safari Park

If you enter the survey, we’ll also give a £1 donation to charity. This year the total raised will be split between the Liverpool Guild of Students’ four annual charities – PapyrusMencap LiverpoolOptions for Supported Living, and The Whitechapel Centre.

Is this really an appropriate prize to be awarded by a university? Should we be celebrating such animals being kept in wholly unsuitable, commercial environments (even though people will claim it’s conservation (it’s not))? Is this the 1970s? The answer to all three of the questions is a resounding no (or it should be). Maybe take some time to look at articles by PETA and the like?
