CareerConnect programme launched to connect students with employers and alumni

The start of the new academic year also marked the launch of CareerConnect, the University’s new employer-led events and engagement programme.

The Employer Engagement Team in Careers and Employability took over University Square for two days, showcasing their new graduate employer group plus an exciting range of events taking place this semester.

Emma Moore, Head of Careers and Employability explains: “CareerConnect is designed to bring students together with leading employers, alumni and other useful contacts so that they can access the people, the networks and resources they need to forge a successful future after they graduate.

“The launch was a fantastic success, attracting the attention of thousands of students and showcasing our new approach to integrating career planning and employability at every stage of the student journey.”

L’Oreal, PwC, Aldi, IBM, Jaguar Land Rover, BAE Systems, Bank of America Meryll Lynch, Unilever, DLA Piper, the Bank of England, Civil Service and Arup  are just some of the organisations who will be working closely with the University this academic year. Representatives from 15 of these organisations were on campus as part of the launch, promoting a wide range of career paths as well as internship and placement opportunities.
