Student Officer Elections: Nominations open

SO elections 2019

Looking for a top job? Nominations are officially open for the next Student Officers at Liverpool Guild of Students.

The Guild is on the lookout for the next four-strong team who will lead the organisation and be the voice of over 24,000 students.

The successful candidates will work at Liverpool Guild of Students for one year, earn around £19k, and make a big difference to students at the University of Liverpool.

There are no job applications or interviews for these posts – they are filled each year through student votes in the Student Officer Elections. All you have to do is nominate yourself and campaign your way to becoming Student Officer.

The role involves acting as a voice for University of Liverpool students by getting involved in University Committees, planning and running campaigns, and supporting activities on campus.

Commenting on the opportunity, current Guild President Rory Hughes said: “Being a Student Officer gives you a level of representative power beyond what many people believe. You will act as a voice for University of Liverpool students to the University itself, local and national government, the media and so much more…It is a role where you can affect substantial, lasting change for students and the wider world. You have the ability to change the Guild itself, lobby the University for change on everything from bursaries to lecture capture and even work with local government to do things like get cheaper bus travel!”
