All new, first year postgraduate researchers are invited to attend the Liverpool Doctoral College’s, Postgraduate Researcher Induction event, taking place from Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 October.
The induction aims to help postgraduate research (PGR) students get started at the University, and includes the chance to meet the staff who will be there to support them throughout their studies, get tips on how to get ahead as a researcher, and take part in social events to meet new colleagues.
Key sessions include, ‘Starting out in the Research Environment’, ‘Enhancing your employability during your PhD’, ‘Supervisor Question Time’, ‘Social Media for Researchers’, as well as Campus Tours and an Afternoon Tea Social.

PGR Welcome Quiz
All postgraduate researchers are also invited to a Welcome Quiz on Wednesday 9 October, running from 5.30pm to 8pm in the Gilmour Room, Guild.
Hosted by the PG Society, this is a great opportunity to find out what the society can offer you during your time in Liverpool. There will be a small prize for the winning team but it’s the taking part that counts (please remember this when you get the prize…if you win!)
All attendees will be given a drinks token which they can exchange for one drink from the bar in the Liverpool Guild of Students during the event.
The quiz is free of charge but places are limited. If you can’t attend please cancel the booking so another person can take the place. Book here.
