If you’re graduating this July we know you have a lot to consider at the moment. We thought it would be helpful if our Careers & Employability team provided some quick tips for simple things you could do today that might help you beyond graduation.
Tip 1: Update your contact details
It is important to update your contact details so we know where to send your graduation pack and certificate.
You can update your contact details by taking the Class of 2020 survey.

Tip 2: Sign up to Handshake
We have partnered with Handshake as the provider of a new Careers & Employability platform for students and graduates. Over the coming weeks, Handshake will replace CareerHub to become the one-stop-shop for all of your employability needs.
You can log in with with your university email address to complete your profile and start accessing careers resources, exclusive online employer events, and to search for graduate job opportunities.
Tip 3: Check your online footprint
Google yourself to find out what comes up. Employers might do this. If the results might make a potential employer think twice about hiring you, you may want to take some steps to counteract this. You might also like to change your privacy settings on your social media networks too.
Tip 4: Let us know your plans
Once you graduate, the University will continue to offer you support and guidance. We can help you secure a job or provide you with exclusive opportunities that will enhance your career.
To make sure you can access the support that we can offer, you’ll need to update your contact details by taking the Class of 2020 survey. Letting us know your plans for after graduation will help us to provide the best support for you.
