Virtual events and activities to take part in this week: Culture from home

Whether you are self-isolating, or just staying in more during the lockdown – we know it can be tricky to find things to do to keep busy!

Each week we will round up some of the best virtual events and activities you can enjoy – this week we’re bringing you the best ways to enjoy culture from home.

1. Peer Mentors Recommend Podcasts

Our Peer Mentors recommend some great podcasts to listen to during the winter months. Each mentor will talk about a podcast they have recently listened to and want to recommend to others!

4. Give Art A Go: Art in Liverpool Parks

Have a look at some hidden gems of art all around our Liverpool parks and green spaces. We’ll be chatting about Lulu Quinn’s work in Greenbank park and more! All questions are welcome but not essential. This session will be led by Louise Waller.

Louise Waller is a local ceramics artist and educator. Studio member of Baltic Clay Ceramics Studio. Works at Tate Liverpool and The Victoria Gallery and Museum.

5. Writing for Wellbeing

‘Writing for Wellbeing’ is a free creative writing course designed for you to do while self-isolating or during lockdown. Sign up to receive regular videos and writing exercises- all levels welcome.

6. Lunchtime Concert Series: Mandy Burvill (clarinet), Ian Buckle (piano)

Clarinet tutor Mandy Burvill and piano tutor Ian Buckle join forces in a dazzling display of contemporary repertoire including Skein by Michael Beiert, Technical Services Coordinator for the Department of Music.

10. Discover the Sisters of Mersey
