Faith services available over the winter break

The University has a number of Chaplains and Associate Chaplains who provide pastoral and faith support to staff and students. All the chaplains are friendly, approachable and willing to talk about anything from exploring faith and spirituality to pastoral care.

St Barnabas, Penny Lane

  • Sunday, 6 December 11am: Church Opening Sunday. The doors to St Barnabas Penny Lane will be open once again!
  • Monday, 7 December 8pm: Student Christmas Party.  Join on Zoom to get to know other students and plans for Penny Lane Church in the New Year. Games and food involved!
  • Sunday, 13 December 9am and 11am: Penny Lane Nativity.  Bring your mates to a fun and visual story of the Christmas Nativity
  • Sunday, 20 December 11am, 4pm and 6pm: Penny Lane Carols. Carols with a twist… come along to join in with a different kind of carol service!
  • Thursday, 24 December 4pm and 11pm: Christmas Eve Services.  Quieter and chilled, we are looking at the significance of Jesus coming to Earth.

At St Philip Neri Church we hope to be able to have 6pm Mass on Sunday, 6 and 13 December. Sunday Mass will be streamed on the chaplaincy website ( on Sunday, 20 December.

Methodist Chaplaincy

Elm Hall Drive Methodist Church will be holding a Carol Service on Zoom on Sunday, 20 December. After the service there will be a time of chat and fellowship, particularly aimed at young people and students as this is the usual time for their monthly Youth Service.
