Get ready to move to Canvas

In around 5 weeks’ time, the University will complete the move to its new virtual learning environment, Canvas.

The last day you will be able to access your modules in VITAL is 31 July; after that, everything you need for your studies will be in Canvas.

The majority of learning resources associated with your academic modules – such as lecture notes and videos – have already been moved over to Canvas but there are some items that can’t be copied over. So before 31 July, you need to make sure that you download and save everything that you want to keep from VITAL.

What do I need to save?

If you want to keep the following content or resources you need to download and save them now:

  • Turnitin assignments and feedback
  • Blackboard assignments and feedback
  • Relevant Discussion Boards and threads
  • Blackboard quizzes
  • Items saved within Campus Pack
  • Items saved within the Mobius app

How do I save these materials?

Saving these items is really straightforward. Head to the Canvas Help for Student Canvas course for step-by-step guidance on what you need to do. Plus you’ll find videos and guides on how to use Canvas.
