It’s now Week 3 of our Feel Good February programme, and below we’ve rounded up our pick of which events and activities to get involved with this week.

1. Sport Liverpool Around The World Step Challenge, until 28 February
You may already be walking every day or looking for a little motivation to increase your daily steps so we are calling on everyone to log your steps with us to see how far we can make it Around The World in 28 Days! – We have gone as far as Morocco before; can you help us beat this?

2. #LoveLiverpool – Find a Career You Love, Monday 14 February 11am-2pm
Do you #LoveLiverpool and want to get hired in the region? This brand new event has been designed to showcase the best local organisations and opportunities, including part-time internships and graduate roles.
You’ll have the opportunity to network with a couple of top employers in the region over a free hot chocolate and a cupcake, you’ll hear from the Employer Connections team all about the Liverpool Interns programme and how to secure an internship in Liverpool and how you can bag yourself a top graduate job in one of the SMEs in the region through the LCR Grad Scheme.
You’ll also be able to sign up to our Employer Connect Zone on Canvas which will give you access to all the information about Liverpool Interns, LCR Grad Scheme and our top picks of internships and jobs in Liverpool.
3. Valentine’s Day Sunset Stroll to the Docks, Monday 14 February 4-6pm
No plans for Valentine’s day? Meet on University Square, just outside Liverpool Guild of Students’ Reception – a staff member will meet you there and take you to the Docks to watch the sunset!

4. Mindful Study Break, Tuesday 15 February 2-3pm
Taking a break is so important, however it can often be overlooked by students! So, we’ve created Mindful study break where you can take an hour out of your studies to have some mindful time walking around and near campus whilst taking your mind away from the stress!

5. Lunchtime concert: Wirral Brass Quintet, Wednesday 16 February 1-2pm
Wirral Brass Quintet is a newly formed brass ensemble that focuses on education across the Wirral. The performance will comprise of authentic music arranged for brass quintet from Samuel Scheidt to Malcolm Arnold.
6. Fiction Book Swap, Wednesday 16 February 2-4pm
Pop into the Harold Cohen Library or the Sydney Jones Library every Wednesday afternoon in February to swap some of the fiction books you’ve already read and find a new read from others’ donations!
7. Confidence vs Self Esteem workshop, Wednesday 16 February 4-5.30pm
This 1.5-hour session is designed to raise awareness of the difference between confidence and self-esteem, and how to make small changes as sustainable resolutions for a healthier, balanced lifestyle.
The session will enable candidates to apply techniques and practices into their everyday lives to support the increase of confidence and self-esteem as well as raising self-awareness levels to change patterns of self-limiting thoughts and behaviours and build new protective habits. It is also designed to help candidates to increase personal resilience.

8. Introduction to Meditation, Thursday 17 February 1-1.55pm
Set some time aside in your day to learn about a technique that will help you unwind and find peace within. Suitable for beginners.
During the 45 minutes session we will cover:
- Definition and benefits of mindfulness and meditation in our daily lives
- How to set up comfortably for meditation
- A guided meditation with clear and easy to understand guidance & instructions
- Meditation book suggestions

9. A Mindful Way to Stay Healthy at University online workshop, Friday 18 February 11-11.45am
In this 45 minutes talk, Barry Tse, a UoL alumnus and mindfulness teacher, will share with you some simple mindfulness tricks to put you back in the driving seat, learn to be present in every moment and not let the opportunities of university life pass you by.

10. Crafternoon: Sketching 101, Friday 18 February 3.30-5pm
Curious about drawing and learning to draw? Come along to this session for absolute beginners and produce some quickform sketches to start building your drawing skills. All abilities are welcome, and you can bring your own project if you like! Paper and pencils will be provided.
