Students travelling to, from, and within the Liverpool City Region are urged to plan their journeys and check before they travel, ahead of planned strike action by members of the RMT union this week.
The action means Merseyrail will not be able to run services on Tuesday, 21 June; Thursday, 23 June or Saturday, 25 June. The strikes will also have an impact on rail journeys on Wednesday, 22; Friday, 24; and Sunday, 26 June.
Whilst Merseyrail staff are not taking part in this industrial action, it will involve Network Rail staff who operate the signalling systems and provide crucial maintenance which allow services to run safely. Therefore, Merseyrail will be unable to provide any train services on days when industrial action is taking place.
