Extended Summer Bank Holiday closure period – services and support available for those on campus

The University will be operating with reduced services and operating hours for an extended summer bank holiday period from Thursday, 25 – Tuesday, 30 August.

Any students who are still accessing campus over the summer are more than welcome to continue to do so, and during this period the University remains committed to providing services and access to support should you need it.

Services and facilities

Below you’ll find an overview of the opening times for campus services and facilities over the closure period, however, you can also access further University support and services online.

Libraries

From Thursday, 25 to Tuesday, 30 August, opening hours will be as follows:

Harold Cohen Library

Sydney Jones Library

Leahurst Library

Library helpdesks

Special Collections and Archives

During the closure period, study spaces will be open and you will be able to access and borrow books from the shelves.

Helpdesks in the libraries will be closed from 25-29 August so if you need support, please access support via our online enquiry service.

All of our online resources such as databases, e-books and e-journals will continue to be available 24 hours a day via the library website.


Liverpool Guild of Students

The Guild Building and reception will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday, 24 till 9am Tuesday, 30 August. Outlets are open as follows:

Starbucks

The Sphinx and Guild Garden

Temporarily closed for our summer makeover! All reopening plans will be announced soon.

Click and collect food orders are available from the Courtyard Servery
between 12pm-4.15pm throughout August.


Sport Liverpool

The Sports & Fitness Centre will be operating with vacation period hours over the closure period. Please see each venues opening hours via this webpage. 


Accessing support services

Over the closure period, Student Services will still be providing a drop-in service Monday-Friday between 10.30am-1pm. Further details are available on the Student Services website. You can also book an appointment to speak to an adviser here.

Feeling unwell?

If you are feeling ill and are concerned ring NHS on 111. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

To get help from NHS 111, you can:

Mental health support

In an emergency, or if you don’t feel that you can keep yourself safe, go to accident and emergency (A&E), or call 999 for an ambulance. If you’re not in need of immediate medical treatment and unsure what the best option is for you, call NHS 111 who can advise you.
