The new student intranet home page will launch on Thursday, 17 November.
Designed to improve the user experience for our students the new homepage has been developed following extensive research into what our student community want and expect from their intranet homepage. This involved data driven analysis of how the student intranet is used, as well as extensive qualitative consultation.
A ‘beta’ version of the homepage was made available to students in September and further updates to the page have been made following an analysis of the feedback received.
Mike Deyes, Associate Director of Marketing (Digital) said “This updated student page allows our students quick and easy access to the many tools and services they need. It also provides a sense of community and enables knowledge sharing with prominent articles, events and other features.”
Data analysis has been used to find out which tools and services were the most important to students, including determining the most popular tools which are located near the top of the page. Extensive user testing has also been completed to help ensure a good experience for the majority of our students.
The new homepage has a modernised design and is optimised for different devices, such as mobile. The design uses styles that are being rolled out across the domain in the coming months.
The Digital Communications Team would like to thank all students who have input into the development of the page through providing feedback and taking part in user testing.
