Postgraduate researchers: The clock is ticking to enter the Three Minute Thesis competition

Interested in developing and practicing your public engagement and presentation skills, whilst competing for prizes?

This year the Academy’s Researcher Development team is hosting the University of Liverpool’s first ever Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT®). 3MT® is a prestigious public engagement activity which challenges doctoral candidates to give a compelling spoken presentation of their research to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes, with just one slide. Since its launch by the University of Queensland in 2008, 3MT® has been adopted in 85 countries and 900 universities worldwide. The winner of the University of Liverpool’s competition will be entered into the quarter-finals of the highly-regarded UK-wide competition hosted by Vitae, and will have a professionally filmed and edited video about their research that they can add to their portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your presentation and public-engagement skills, whilst competing for prizes and the prestige of becoming a 3MT® winner.

The clock is ticking, don’t miss out on the chance to take part! Submit your entry by midday on Friday the 14th of April.

Visit the 3MT® website for guidance and resources on how to create a winning 3MT® presentation.  For more information about how to enter the competition visit our webpages.
