Welcome to #TeamLivUni – we’re really looking forward to seeing you on campus soon.
Getting ready to join us can be a really busy time, so we thought it might be helpful to share a checklist that covers eleven key things you need to do before arriving.
*****************
If you’re one of our wonderful international students, check out the International webpages for everything you need to know before coming to Liverpool.
*****************
- Confirm your place with us. Remember, if we were your firm choice and you met or exceeded the terms of your offer (go you), you don’t need to contact us. You’re in 😊
- Activate your computing account before you arrive on campus.
- Register to use Liverpool Life – Liverpool Life is a University system that holds your personal details and information about your academic programme. You will need to register for Liverpool Life to confirm your place with us.
- Upload your Student ID card photo to Liverpool Life. Your student card will be used to get into the libraries and to use the printers. You need to upload your photo by Friday, 8 September.
- Make sure your personal information in Liverpool Life is correct and hit the ‘Complete my Registration checklist items’ button.
- Paying your fees: If the Student Loans Company are paying your tuition fees you can find out how they are paid via the Student Finance England webpages. If you are self-financing your tuition fees or they are being paid by an external organisation (not a friend, relative or the Student Loans Company) visit the Paying student fees webpages.
- Make sure you complete the Liverpool Welcome Module. This can be accessed on Canvas and is your virtual, on-demand welcome toolkit. You’ll find plenty of videos, information, events, support and opportunities for you to enjoy as a student here at Liverpool.
- Going to be living in Halls? Complete your pre-arrival induction that will be sent to you via email in early September.
- Look at your Welcome programme and download the My Liverpool app to find out all of the events and activities planned for September.
- Chat to your course mates and ask us any questions via the UniBuddy app – you should have received an email inviting you to join.
- Follow the University social media accounts and your department on social. Use #TeamLivUni to keep up-to-date with everything that happening during Welcome 2023.

Things to do during your first few days on campus:
- Confirm your engagement: If you don’t confirm your engagement, you won’t be a fully registered student at the University. Around nine days before your programme starts you will be sent an email that will ask you to confirm your engagement via Liverpool Life. If you’re a student who will study on University campus, you will need to confirm your engagement from a PC connected to the University network.
- Register with a GP
- Collect your student ID card. Once you’re academically registered, you can also access your digital student ID card via the My Liverpool app.
- View your academic timetable
- Visit Liverpool Life to make sure we have your current term-time address.
- If you are a new undergraduate, remember to electronically sign and return your declaration to Student Finance. We can’t confirm your attendance to Student Finance England until you’ve done it, which could cause a delay in receiving your money. Please visit the Student finance pages on the gov.uk site for more information.
