University friendships really are one of a kind 🥹 University friendships really are one of a kind 🥹

For honorary graduate @doctoramirkhan, his time at Liverpool was about more than studying medicine - it was about finding a place where he belonged and meeting people who would become lifelong friends.

From supporting each other through life’s biggest moments to staying connected years after graduation, Dr Amir’s story is a reminder of the friendships and sense of community that make Liverpool so special.

Today, on International Day of Friendship, we’re celebrating the connections made here that last a lifetime. 💙

We weren’t expecting a Charli XCX reference or “Walk a Mile in These Louboutins” 👠 to feature in a graduation speech… but honorary graduate @jonshave delivered!

From studying Popular Music at Liverpool to becoming a Grammy & BRIT Award-winning songwriter, Jon has gone on to create music with some of the biggest names in pop, including @charli_xcx, @kylieminogue, @sugababes, @littlemix and @zaralarsson.

Returning to campus, Jon reflected on his journey and shared some advice for our #ClassOf2026: protect your curiosity, take seriously the things you love and trust your own timeline. 💙

From Liverpool to the world and back home again, honorary graduate Peter Moore (@scouserincali) knows what it means to carry the values of this city with you!

A Liverpool-born leader whose career has spanned gaming, technology and football - including helping grow @xbox at @microsoft and later becoming CEO of @liverpoolfc - Peter shared a special message with our #ClassOf2026.

Wherever life takes you next, remember that you’ll always be part of the Liverpool and #TeamLivUni community 🥹

Last week, graduating medic, Mia Hankinson, caught up with honorary graduate @doctoramirkhan during our summer graduations to talk about his return to Liverpool, his favourite memories from his time as a student and the advice he’d share with the next generation of doctors. 🌟

Mia’s own journey to becoming a doctor is one to celebrate. Having come to Liverpool from a care-experienced background, she has gone on to support others through her work as a Liverpool Advocate - and now begins her next chapter as Dr Hankinson! Congratulations Mia! 👏

We love seeing the #TeamLivUni community continue to support, inspire and celebrate one another - a healthy dose of what makes our University so special. 💙

University of Liverpool student Luke Rimmer has begun an unforgettable cycling journey from @xjtlu in Suzhou all the way to Liverpool, following the historic Silk Road.

Travelling across two continents, Luke hopes to arrive back at the University in time for his graduation this December. 🎓

What an incredible adventure to take on before crossing the graduation stage. We’ll be following every mile and can’t wait to welcome you back to Liverpool.

Good luck Luke! 💙

We caught up with some of our #ClassOf2026 to hear about their degrees they studied and what’s next for them.

Graduation is a huge milestone, but it’s also the start of a new journey - and it’s completely okay if you don’t have everything figured out just yet. Whether you have your next step planned out or you’re still finding your way, there’s no one right path after graduation.

Take your time, trust your journey, and know we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. 💙
