Plans to give new students a warm Liverpool ‘Welcome’ are in full swing right across the University.
To ensure you get to visit as many Welcome stalls and events as possible during Welcome Week (Mon 18 – Fri 22 Sept) – in as safe a manner as possible – we will be making some temporary changes to roads and pathways around campus.
Road closure
In preparation for Welcome Week we will be closing Mount Pleasant to traffic from Friday 15 through to Monday 25 September. The area will be fully pedestrianised for this period and will be used to host stalls, giving students the freedom to roam safely between the Welcome fairs and events we’re running throughout the week.
Walkway outside Reilly Building
We are also introducing a temporary one way system into The Guild Fair and Sports Fair on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September to help you enter the fairs as quickly as possible. A section of Guild Walk outside the Reilly Building will be closed and will act as a walkway between The Guild’s marquee on Peach Street and the Mountford Hall.
Car parks
Finally, the visitors car park next to the Sports centre will be closed from Monday 18 to Friday 22 September. We will be using the car park as queuing space for the 5,000+ students we’re expecting on campus each day.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and please take care around campus, particularly when Mount Pleasant reopens from Monday 25 September, as this is normally a busy junction for traffic.

Did you know…
The University’s Here to Help Hub have a new home.
Here to Help has relocated over the summer to the Central Teaching Laboratory / Central Teaching Hub with two entrance points. One for International students and one for all other queries, including ID card collection, IT Services and Student Administration.
The Here to Help Hub is your first point of call if you need assistance. No query is too small and they will have staff on hand to assist without the need to book an appointment.
The Hub is open 9am-5pm throughout Welcome Week.
