Access your student digital ID card in My Liverpool

A new digital version of your student ID card is now available within the My Liverpool app.

Your digital ID card is designed to complement (not replace) your existing physical ID card. It contains the same registered name and ID number as your plastic card, plus additional details such as your preferred name, the name of your academic programme and the end date of your studies.

Your digital ID card will come in handy if you have forgotten, lost or damaged your physical card by acting as a helpful back up while you wait for a replacement.

You can access your digital ID card as soon as you complete your registration, giving you access to a form of University ID quickly at the start of the year while you wait to collect your physical card.

The new digital card has been developed following a student survey conducted last year where 82% of students said they would like a digital student ID card on their mobile.

Use it at The Guild

The great news is that your digital card will be recognised by The Guild as your formal student ID and you will be able to use it to apply for your bus pass from the student shop, if you need one.

At this stage, you will not be able to use your digital ID card to access any University buildings and you will still need your physical student ID card as valid ID for things like exams.

While you can use your digital ID card as proof of your identity on campus, your accommodation may still require your physical card for security purposes, so always keep this on you wherever possible.

Where to find your digital card

To access your new digital ID card, download the MyLiverpool App on your smartphone/tablet and select ‘View student card’ in the ‘Profile’ section of the app.
