Now that they have settled into their roles, we’ve been finding out more about them and what they hope to achieve over the next few months.

Deputy President – Lina Dubbins (she/her)
Favourite place in the Guild: The Mandela Room – There are some beautiful features in the room. I love the huge windows and when the sun shine sin, it’s so peaceful

Priorities for the year:
Diversifying mental health services and establishing a peer support program for students in recovery
Decolonising the university and campus
Free sexual health products and pregnancy tests for students
Bring the night bus back and make bus travel cheaper

Favourite place in the Guild: Guild Garden – Great place have a drink and food as well as chill in the sun when it’s summer

Priorities for the year:
Bring back the night bus and improve public transport across the city
Tackle sexual assault and violence on campus
Improve the University and Guild’s sustainability policies
Cheaper and a wider range of food options in the Guild
Reduce the cost of rent and challenge exploitative landlords

Creating a loyalty scheme for the Guild
