Student winner of university Handshake competition

Student winner of Handshake competition

Congratulations to second year Biology student Bethany Spence who has won an amazing tech bundle worth £1,000 in the Ace Your Handshake competition from the Careers and Employability team.

To enter the competition University of Liverpool students had to log-in to their #Handshake account and complete 5 simple steps to update their online profile.

Bethany said: “It was really quick and easy and only took about 5 minutes to complete my profile. I’ve noticed that since completing the steps I’ve been getting more views than before and I’d recommend other students to complete their Handshake profile.”

Handshake is the dedicated careers and employability platform for University of Liverpool students and graduates that can help when looking for job opportunities and careers events. It is also packed with a wide range of resources to help explore career options, make connections, and with every stage of the recruitment process.

Bethany said: “Some of the benefits I’ve found from using Handshake is in searching for careers events where I can meet employers, like the Life Sciences Employability Week and the Livuni Careers Fair for example.”

“It’s also really useful that I can message fellow students and employers on Handshake, so I can get to know more about the people who are attending the same events and about certain employers. ’I’m going to hopefully be looking for a placement in summer so using Handshake will really help me do that.”
