Societies provide opportunities meet like-minded students and enjoy a shared interest – whether it’s to pursue a hobby, celebrate a faith or culture, or expand your academic horizons beyond your studies.
They’re also a great way to give back to the local community and to raise money for local and national charities.
Our societies have been working incredibly hard this semester, and here are just a few examples of the amazing achievements:
- BME Medics raised over £240 at their Charity Music Night for the Sickle Cell Society.
- University of Liverpool Dance Society raised £457 for BBC Children in Need in their 5-hour danceathon.
- Liverpool Marrow raised over £70 and recruited 27 potential new donors to the Anthony Nolan Charity in their Marroween bake sale.
- The Politics Society and Feminist Society collaborated on a wine glass painting evening that raised £310 for Keeping Abreast.
Massive congratulations to all our student societies on their accomplishments this semester, we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store.
There are a wide range of student societies at the University of Liverpool. If you’ve not joined a society yet there’s still time, as they will be happy to accept new members throughout the academic year.
