Postgrad Researchers: save the date for Making an Impact 2024

Dates for the University’s award-winning annual Making an Impact Series have been confirmed as 13th May to 14th June 2024. This flagship event of 70+ sessions for you to dip in and out of, offered by The Academy’s Researcher Development Team, is back in 2024 for five weeks of transformative live and self-directed activities that promise to inspire and engage you with knowledge exchange and research impact.

With over 50 sessions already confirmed (and more to follow) there’s something for all PGR students, including events exploring topics such as using generative AI in your research, communication and public engagement skills, how to find and establish successful collaborations, and developing your high-impact productivity.

Sessions will be a mix of online and in-person and will include workshops, masterclasses, 1:1 career coaching, an expanded number of research facility/centre tours, more opportunities for connecting with your peers, and an enhanced Making an Impact Framework module to help you design your learning experience.

Making an Impact 2024 promises insights from some of the leading change-makers from the region and beyond, with two keynote speakers already confirmed:

  • Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement and Partnerships Professor Tariq Ali will explore the importance of globalisation for modern research and the University’s role in an increasingly connected world.
  • Colin Sinclair, CEO of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool, will be discussing the mutual relationship between the University and the Knowledge Quarter with Professor Anthony Hollander, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research & Impact.

Making an Impact 2024 aims to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange within and beyond the University of Liverpool community. With up to 20 online sessions, PGR students studying off campus and at our international partners Sumy State University and XJTLU can participate too.
