Postgraduate Researchers: Reflect, Revisit and Prepare for More Making an Impact 2024

We’re halfway through Making an Impact 2024 and we have already hosted over 400 participants from University of Liverpool and beyond, including researchers from universities across the UK, Africa and Europe, including Ukraine and Ireland. So many inspirational career development sessions have already taken place and as many again still to come.

There are another 22 research impact and knowledge exchange events open to postgraduate researchers (PGRs) before Making an Impact 2024 ends on the 14th June, including sessions on AI, collaborating with non-academic partners, building resilience, sustainable innovation, visualising your research, applying for fellowships, and many more.

Embed your learning

Week 3 (27th – 31st May) of Making an Impact 2024 is our Embedding week, a chance for you to reflect on what you’ve learned and consider how you might put it into practice. To help, we’ve created self-reflection logs which you can use to reflect and write down your thoughts and plans on your learnings from Making an Impact 2024 so far. This includes a wellbeing reflection log and links to our wellbeing hub as we encourage you to take breaks and consider how you can support a healthy work-life balance and build wellbeing in your day-to-day practice.

We have provided these logs to help you to think about how you can put into practice what you have learnt and what actions you need to pursue that will make the difference to your future career. How will you use the knowledge gained from attending a session to strengthen your networking abilities, articulate your skills or communicate your research findings to a variety of audiences?

Access the self-reflection logs here.

You can also use the Embedding week to catch up on any sessions you weren’t able to attend, by using the ‘Videos’ page in our Virtual Delegate Pack, with recordings available within 48 hours of the events taking place.

The Virtual Delegate Pack is filled with many other ways to engage with Making an Impact to help you on your development journey, including: 3 new episodes of the Making an Impact Developing Practice podcast, 16 new blogs written by our expert facilitators, the Community Delegate Database, the Making an Impact 2024 Pocket Book of Top Tips, wellbeing resources, family-friendly activities and our inspirational playlist.
