New student checklist: essential things to do before arriving

Welcome to #TeamLivUni – we’re really looking forward to seeing you on campus soon.

Getting ready to join us can be a really busy time, so here’s  a checklist of 11 key things you need to do before arriving.

  1. Confirm your place with us. Remember, if we were your firm choice and you met or
exceeded the terms of your offer, you don’t need to contact us; you’re in!
  2. Activate your IT account before you arrive on campus.
  3. Register for your programme –  This process is available one month before your course start date. You’ll receive an email from us letting you know once it’s time to do this.
  4. Upload your Student ID card photo to Liverpool Life. Your student card will be used to get into the libraries and to use the printers. You need to upload your photo by Friday, 6 September.
  5. Make sure your personal information in Liverpool Life is correct and hit the ‘Complete my Registration checklist items’ button.
  6. Paying your fees: If the Student Loans Company are paying your tuition fees you can find out how they are paid via the Student Finance England webpages. If you are self-financing your tuition fees or they are being paid by an external organisation (not a friend, relative or the Student Loans Company) visit the Paying student fees webpages.
  7. Take part in our Welcome module on our online learning platform, Canvas. This is your virtual, on-demand welcome toolkit, where you’ll find plenty of information and resources relating to your first few weeks as a student here at Liverpool. Keep your eyes peeled for an email from us inviting you to join.
  8. Going to be living in Halls? Complete your pre-arrival induction that will be sent to you via email in early September.
  9. Look at your Welcome programme and download the My Liverpool app to find out all of the events and activities planned for September.
  10. Chat to your course mates and ask us any questions via the Buzz app – our online community for incoming students – you should have received an email inviting you to join.
  11. Follow the University social media accounts and your department on social. Use #TeamLivUni to keep up-to-date with everything that happening during Welcome 2024.
