Don’t wait until you’re sick! Get registered with our on-campus GP

If you’ve moved to Liverpool for your studies, make sure you register with a local GP.
Your GP is usually your first port of call if you feel unwell or need medical support, so it’s best to get registered before you might need to see a doctor.

It’s especially important if you have a health condition such as asthma, diabetes, or if you require regular medication. Your new doctor can also liaise with your hospital consultant if needed. And don’t worry — you can still see your home GP on a temporary basis during holiday periods.

Brownlow Health – Student Health Centre

Starting university is exciting, and looking after your health is a big part of making the most of your time here. Brownlow Health Central runs the Student Health Centre on campus, so you can get the care you need without having to travel far.

If you live in halls or nearby (postcodes L1, L2, L3, L6, L7, L8, L15, L17, L18), you’re within the usual practice boundary. But don’t worry if you live a little further away – in some cases they can still accept you if you meet certain criteria.

Brownlow Health has three main surgery sites in the city:

All their practices are open Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:30pm. Brownlow Health also run extended access clinics on selected days and even some Saturdays – just check their website or contact them for details.

Once you’re registered, you can use whichever site is easiest for you. You’ll also have access to Blinx, their online system for medical queries and admin requests (like sick notes) – super handy when you’re busy with lectures and deadlines!

How to register

Registering is quick and easy:

Within 48 hours, your registration will be active, and you’ll be ready to use all the available Brownlow Health services.

Brownlow Health also runs other practices across the city; Kensington Park, Princes Park, and Marybone (next to the Superlambanana). If one of those is closer to you, you can register directly with them too. More details can be found here.
