Important: updating your eduroam Wi-Fi connection on your personal devices

Student working on laptop

On Monday, 8 December 2025, we are updating the eduroam security certificate. This is part of an important project to make sure that our network remains secure.

Last month, we asked students to update the eduroam connection tool (eduroam CAT) on your personal devices. While a large number of devices were updated, there are a significant number of devices still to make the changes.

We have been able to postpone the date for when the update takes place to Monday, 8 December to give you more time to reinstall eduroam.

Thank you to everyone who has updated your eduroam connection so far, you don’t need to do anything to stay connected.

Required actions for all personal devices before 8 December

If you still haven’t updated your eduroam connection, please complete the following steps to remain connected:

  1. Forget the current eduroam Wi-Fi connection (see device-specific guides below).
  2. Connect with another secure network or mobile data.
  3. Visit the eduroam Wi-Fi page and follow instructions to reinstall the Wi-Fi security certificate (CAT).
  4. Reconnect to eduroam.
