Sustainability Week 2026: Be the change

Students are invited to take part in Sustainability Week 2026 – a week-long programme of events, discussions and practical workshops designed to inspire action and engagement across the University.

Taking place from 23-27 February, during the final week of Feel Good February, the Sustainability Team, in partnership with the Liverpool Guild of Students, will host a series of activities celebrating progress made over the past year. The week also marks 12 months since the launch of the University’s Sustainability Strategy, alongside the release of the new Sustainability Strategy Progress Report.

A key highlight is the Sustainability Fair on Thursday, 26 February at the Liverpool Guild of Students, bringing together University teams, student groups and external organisations to share ideas, showcase initiatives and explore ways to get involved both on and off campus.

Key events you won’t want to miss

Pitch for the Planet: A SUEZ Dragons’ Den Challenge – Wednesday, 25 February, 11am-3pm, Sherrington Building

Students are invited to take part in a Dragons’ Den-style sustainability challenge delivered by SUEZ, a global leader in waste management and resource recovery. Working in teams, you’ll tackle a real-world sustainability issue by designing a creative behaviour-change campaign with a hypothetical £200,000 budget, before pitching your ideas to a panel of industry professionals. The session offers insight into careers in the sustainability sector, the chance to network with professionals including Dr Adam Read MBE, Chief Sustainability Officer at SUEZ UK, and an opportunity to build valuable employability skills such as teamwork, creativity and communication. No prior experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to get involved. Participants will receive a digital certificate and a Liverpool Advantage Award in Sustainability. Apply via Handshake.
