Search-See-Snap: ‘Magical Music Trails’ photography competition winners announced

The Search-See-Snap competition encouraged students to explore two walking trails, developed by our Institute of Popular Music, to find out more about Liverpool’s musical heritage. Students could explore the trails either individually or in groups of up to 6, taking photographs of their journey. All photographs were submitted to a panel of judges to select 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both individual and group categories to win cash prizes, the judges also gave a commendation to the best photograph submitted by an individual and the best photograph submitted by a group.

The judging panel below reviewed 75 photographs entered to select the winning entries:

Open Eye Gallery Showcase

All entries into the competition will be showcased in an exhibition at Open Eye Gallery from 26 May – 6 June.

Open Eye Gallery is reopening on 26 May and will be open every Wednesday-Sunday 11am-4pm.

Thank you to all those who entered and enjoyed the trails. The judges were very pleased to see such a variety of images submitted and having so many great submissions to choose from.

Although the competition has now ended, the trails are still available to download and enjoy at your leisure.

Running from Penny Lane to Lark Lane, on this trail you’ll discover more about The Beatles, festivals that run from Sefton Park and see the pub that was once home to Freddie Mercury.
