Volunteer Veterinarian opportunity in the Maldives

If you’re graduating this summer with a Veterinary Science degree and looking for an exciting new opportunity, then this volunteering role in the beautiful Maldives could be for you.

The Atoll Marine Centre is currently looking for a new volunteer Veterinarian with sea turtle or reptile experience to start in October 2022. You will work with rescued sea turtles at the Atoll Marine Centre, situated on the island Naifaru in Lhaviyani atoll, Maldives.

The conservation base is run by local NGO Naifaru Juvenile, and supported by Atoll Volunteers. It is the only marine conservation initiative of its kind in the Maldives to be run from a local island as opposed to a resort. There is a strong focus on environmental education and community involvement in the running their marine conservation programmes.

This is a voluntary role with a 6-12-month contract. It is unpaid but accommodation, food, internal transfers and weekly excursions are provided.
