The University’s Marketing Team has launched a campaign aimed at raising the profile of impactful leaders around the world – including those who have worked or studied with us – and students are being invited to get involved.
Called ‘#leadingtheway’, and running predominantly on social media, the campaign hopes to start a series of conversations about what great leadership looks like today, and in the process raise the profile of the University as the home of bold, original thinkers.
University alums, Dr Amir Khan, Khalida Abdulrahim and Megan McCubbin, are helping to get the campaign off the ground by posting on their social media. Amir, Khalida and Megan have filmed videos sharing what strong leadership looks like to them. We won’t spoil the surprise by revealing more but you can watch their clips here.
Students are invited to share your inspirations too, by telling us on your social media who you think is making a positive impact in the world through their leadership. These leaders could be University staff, your fellow students, someone famous, or someone else in your network or community. They don’t have to have a direct association with the University but we’d love to include as many people as possible with a University connection. Please tag @LivUni and include the campaign hashtag #leadingtheway.
You can also comment on, like and share the content of others.
Part two of the campaign
As well as generating social media conversations here in the UK, a short film has been produced telling the story of an emerging leader’s journey, and the role the University can play in developing bold, original thinkers.
Starring Pang Wanting, a Marketing student from the Management School, the film will be promoted in China over the next year to raise the profile of the University to prospective international students.

Don’t forget – you can play a major role in helping the University to get the conversation going about #leadingtheway by:
