1. Keith Haring exhibition – until 10 November
Join Tate Liverpool for the first, major UK exhibition of artist and activist Keith Haring. Don’t forget that students at the University can access Tate exhibitions for free – just take along your university ID card for entry.

2. Welcome Fair – Thursday 19 and Friday 20 September
From baking to pro wrestling and sustainability to photography, no matter what your interest the Guild has a society or volunteering opportunity for you.
The Welcome Fair, which is taking place during Welcome Week, is the place where you can find out about the groups you can get involved with while you study with us. You can also pick up lots of freebies, discounts and grab some free Domino’s pizza!

3. Vintage clothing sale – Thursday 26 September
Hosted collaboratively by Liverpool Guild of Students and Headlock Vintage, this fair offers a selection of vintage clothing from brands including, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger and Berghaus. Get ready to rummage for bargains, with all items under £15 each!

4. Baltic Market Oktoberfest – Thursday 3 October to Sunday 6 October
Returning for its third year, the Baltic Market Oktoberfest is Liverpool’s own take on the traditional German celebration.
When: Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 October, various times

How much: Free (Thursday 3 October, 5pm-11pm and Sunday 6 October, 11am-9pm) / £5 on the door (Friday 4 October, 12pm-midnight and Saturday 5 October, 11am-midnight)
5. Liverpool Literary Festival – Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October
This October join us at the third annual Liverpool Literary Festival for conversations, readings and lively discussions. The Festival, sponsored by Student Roost and the Bruntwood Group, welcomes back our Chancellor and winner of this year’s Sunday Times Award for Literary Excellence, Colm Tóibín, along with some new faces, including Alan Hollinghurst, Jess Kidd and Molly Case. Students are eligible for concessionary rates with a valid student ID.

6. Careers Fair – Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 October
Meet employers and find out more about your career options at our upcoming Careers Fairs. The first fair focuses on business, finance and law, and the second fair focuses on science, engineering and technology. Even if you’re not studying these subjects, we recommend you go along because there will be opportunities for students from all disciplines who are looking for internships, placements and graduate jobs.

7. Study Abroad Fair – Friday 25 October
Interestingly, students who take part in Study Abroad earn higher than average salaries and are more likely to graduate with a 2:1 or First Class degree than students who don’t. So, as well as getting to study in somewhere like America, Australia or South Korea, if you take part in Study Abroad you could also improve your career prospects.

8. Halloween Monster Ball with film showings – Sunday 27 to Wednesday 30 October
There’s something spooky happening at Sefton Park Palm House this October. Each afternoon in the run up to Halloween the Palm House will host a ghoulishly themed party with film showings from Hocus Pocus to The Addams Family. Be sure to dress up as there will be a prize each night for the best fancy dress costume!

9. Dine at the Wizard’s Brunch and Dinner – Saturday 23 November
Following a sell our tour of Australia, Canada and America, the Wizard’s Brunch and Dinner is making its way to Liverpool. Guests are invited to don their robes and gowns and take a seat in the Great Hall where they will be transported into a magical world to enjoy an immersive dining experience. Tickets are likely to sell out fast, get yours here.
