The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) will be holding an Open Day on Wednesday 13 November, for students considering progressing onto a PhD programme within the Faculty.
The event is mainly aimed at final year undergraduate and master’s students, however all students are welcome to attend. Representatives from all schools and departments in the Faculty will be present to discuss the PhD programmes available to you and to advise on the application process.
There will also be talks on:
- Why study for a PhD?
- Writing a good research proposal
- Applying for funding for Arts and Humanities PhDs from the AHRC via the North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership
- Applying for funding for Social Science PhDs from the ESRC via the North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership
- Other sources of PhD Funding.
