New library study spaces created

Harold Cohen Library

230 new study spaces have been created in the Harold Cohen Library as part of improvement works which took place over the summer.

The new spaces, which have been in use since the beginning of the academic year in September, are spread over two floors in the Harold Cohen Library in the North part of campus on Ashton Street.

The improvement works, which have all now been completed, included:

  • 230 extra study spaces, with power points for working on laptops
  • 48 new laptops available for loan in the Library
  • An improved and enlarged Postgraduate Study Room
  • Improved air conditioning
  • Improved toilet facilities on the lower ground floor

The improvements have been made as a result of student feedback which showed a need for additional study space and improved facilities.

  • Laptops available to loan
  • Access to wellbeing resources in all study spaces
  • KnowHow revision guides including helpful tips and a revision planner
  • Resources to help you take a break and relax
  • Loyalty card scheme for you to redeem free hot drinks
