Open Languages: A new way to learn a modern language

OpenLanguages

Beginning this autumn, The University of Liverpool will be launching an exciting new Open Languages learning programme for students, staff, and the general public.

With courses covering Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish, there are a wide variety of languages to choose from, and with a flexible new learning system, you can fit language tuition around your degree programme seamlessly.

Flexible learning to fit around you

The programme is delivered using a flexible model that combines online content for you to work through in your own time, with small group seminars and discussion with expert tutors.

Depending upon your course*, you can either choose to study a language as an elective module, or in addition to your programme of study.

Each module carries 15 credits, runs the length of the semester, and will be running in both Semesters 1 and 2. You can start at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels.

There has never been a better time to learn a new language, and the programme is the perfect starting point for the absolute beginner and more experienced speakers alike.
