Update to services and facilities on campus

From Monday, 17 May there will be further easing of restrictions in England as detailed below:

  • 6 people can mix indoors including overnight stays or people from two households if this number is greater than 6
  • Up to 30 people can meet outdoors
  • Indoor hospitality venues such as restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes can reopen.
  • Organised indoor sport will be able to take place for all (this includes gym classes)

In line with this easing of national restrictions in England, there are some further changes to our on-campus services and facilities.

When using all of the on-campus facilities it’s important to adhere to the latest public health guidance to keep everyone safe. These include getting regular tests and wearing a face covering inside campus buildings, as well as outdoors on campus wherever maintaining a 2-metre distance may not be possible. Find out more about on-campus safety measures on our COVID Safety hub.

Halls of Residence

If you are in a flat of 6 or more students, only one flatmate can have a visitor or overnight guest. Try to talk with your flatmates to agree plans for having visitors so that you avoid having too many people in your flat at any one time.

Government guidance advises, you must not interact with anyone outside of your own group (of 30 people outdoors or six people indoors). If you are meeting people indoors, you can make a personal choice on whether to keep your distance from them, but you should still be cautious to help keep you, your family, friends and those who work around you, safe.
