Funded leadership development opportunities

Funded places are available on external leadership development programmes, coordinated by the Organisational Development & Diversity team.

Staff are invited to submit applications of interest for funded places on: 

Aurora: Women in Leadership programme (five places available)

Aurora aims to encourage a wide range of women in academic and professional roles to think of themselves as leaders, to develop leadership skills and to help institutions maximise the potential of these women.

The programme is delivered as a mixture of development days, self-directed learning and work with a mentor.

Stonewall Leadership Programme (one place available)

The annual Stonewall Leadership Programme is the most prestigious leadership course for highly-motivated, talented lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans professionals in the UK. The programme provides a safe space for LGBT professionals to explore the relationship between their sexual orientation and leadership performance in the workplace.

The programme is delivered as a two day residential course.

Stellar HE: BAME Leadership Programme (one place available)

Stellar HE is an exciting executive development programme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff aspiring to leadership positions in Higher Education (HE).The programme is delivered as a mixture of training and coaching sessions (some residential) and self-directed learning.

Successful applications must be supported by line managers, including permission to attend required programme events and activities, and confirmation that travel, subsistence and accommodation costs will be met from the departmental budget.
