Exams and assessments: Tools and support

To help ease the pressure you may be feeling during the upcoming exam and assessment period, the University and Liverpool Guild of Students have developed a number of initiatives.

Library on Tour

From Monday, 14 May to Wednesday, 30 May the Library will be running the #LibraryonTour initiative, opening up temporary, additional study spaces. The following venues will be available to students from 9am to 9pm, seven days per week:

  • School of the Arts Library
  • Management School
  • Arthur West room – School of Histories, Languages and Cultures
  • Liverpool Guild of Students – Elizabeth Gidney room (2ndfloor)
  • Liverpool Guild of Students – Elizabeth Gidney room 2 (2ndfloor)
  • Liverpool Guild of Students – Library (1stfloor)
  • Liverpool Guild of Students – Mandela room (2ndfloor)

These study spaces will either be staffed or staff will be easily contactable by phone, email or text. Laptop loans will be available.

Pick up a free healthy snack

Guild President Sean Turner said: “We know just how hectic this time of year can be with all those exams and deadlines, so we want to help you to keep your cool.

“Starting on Monday, 21 May we will be visiting the libraries every lunchtime to give out healthy snacks and loads of encouragement to keep your spirits up.”

Make use of handy tools

These tools will help you access IT services during peak periods:

PC Finder

PC Finder uses a GPS location service to help you find available PCs on campus. There are plenty of computers in Teaching Centres besides those in the Library, so you’ll be able to find a computer to use near to your location if the libraries are busy.

Speed Stations

Located in the Rendall building, speed stations are designed for quick tasks like printing, checking emails or visiting websites.

Print Anywhere

You can easily print from your own device using Print Anywhere. This means you can work from your own laptop in the library, for example, and still use the printers there.

Campus Map app

Need to find your way across campus in a hurry? Use the University’s Campus Map app to quickly look up buildings and access point-to-point directions from your location.
