Applications for the Alumni and Friends Fund grant are now open

The Alumni and Friends Fund is the University of Liverpool’s annual fundraising initiative, which raises funds from alumni, graduates, friends and staff. In addition to supporting the University’s fundraising priorities, a proportion of unrestricted funding is made available to fund one-off projects across the University.

Apply for funding

Students, staff and societies can apply for funding of up to £5,000 to support ideas, projects and activities that; support the student experience, provide students with opportunities not otherwise available to them (academic or extracurricular), offer long-term benefit and/or enable students and the University to engage with the local community.

Last year, 8 projects were funded by the grant, each of which responded to a variety of needs and aspirations – from purchasing new wetsuits and surf boards for the LivSurf club, buying parts that the Coding and Robotics Society will build into a robot, to funding the Postgraduate Bioethics Conference.

The Fund also supported the Canoe Club in purchasing new kayaking equipment to replace outdated and missing safety kit, including buoyancy aids, first-aid supplies, throwlines, and a group shelter.

How to apply

Applications are invited from students, representatives from clubs and societies registered with Liverpool Guild of Students or Athletics Union, and University of Liverpool academic and professional services staff.

Submissions close on Friday, 9 October. For more information and to apply, visit: https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/alumni-friends-grant.
