Services and catering outlets still open on campus

Following the latest Government guidelines, we have had to make some changes to our on campus services and facilities. Please remember, as guidelines change we will continue to assess our services and may make further updates. Full details will be available on each service webpage.

You should also continue to check our COVID Safety web hub for the latest advice.

Libraries

Bookable study spaces in both the Harold Cohen and Sydney Jones libraries will open, together with bookable study space in the Victoria Gallery and Museum, from 10am to midnight daily. Although it will not be possible to browse material and the Grove Wing of the Sydney Jones, and the stacks in the Harold Cohen will be closed to users.

Borrowing books via Click and Collect will continue in both libraries.

All of our online resources such as databases, e-journals and e-texts will continue to be available 24 hours a day.

Face-to-face help desks in the libraries are closed for the moment, but you can access support via our online enquiry service.

The library have also created a reading list for students who are self-isolating on LibApps.

Catering on campus

To help us keep everybody safe, we have reduced the number of catering outlets open on-campus. Currently, Vine Court and the Guild are the only two University-owned outlets offering food and drink.

At the Guild, the Courtyard, Sphinx and Mountford are still open for you to pop in and eat your own lunch, pick up a ‘famous’ burrito, and grab some drinks in a safe, socially distanced space.  In line with the latest guidance, alcoholic drinks will only be served as part of a meal.

The Courtyard, Sphinx and Mountford Hall are open 7 days a week between 12pm and 9pm. Find out more and book a table here: https://www.liverpoolguild.org/eat-drink-with-us-safely

Sport Liverpool

As a result of the government’s new COVID-19 tier 3 (‘very high’) alert level which is now in place in the Liverpool City Region we have had to take the difficult decision to close the University’s Sports and Fitness Centre temporarily.

The team at Sport Liverpool will be keeping all members up to date on any changes via the website, email and their dedicated social media channels.

You can still get active though! Our online resources will be updated weekly to provide fitness and wellbeing advice and help you keep active.

All membership subscriptions will be frozen during this closure period and the team are available on sfc@liverpool.ac.uk if you have any questions.
