Your Central University Team use various methods to keep you up to date with important information about your University life. This is different to the information you will receive from your academic department which, by now, will be central to your weekly schedule.
Here are some top tips to help you keep up to date with what’s on.
University email
Your student email account is used for official University communications, as well as by lecturers, academic departments, and other University services to provide important information and updates.
It is important that you check your messages on a regular basis. We’d recommend logging in at least once per day.
Your email account is available from anywhere in the world, as long as you have internet access.
To help make things easier our Computing Services Team have a few tips to help you keep in touch, no matter where you are or what smartphone or device you are using:
- Set up your University email on your smartphone
Setting up your University email account on your smartphone is really simple and should take no more than a few minutes. Just follow the instructions for your Android or Apple device.
- Access through a web browser
You can also access email through your web browser of choice using Webmail. Simply login to webmail by entering your University username and your password. If you’re accessing your emails on a laptop, webmail is the easiest way to do this.
- Forward your emails
Another option is to set up email forwarding to redirect your email to another account. You can choose to forward your University account to another account if that helps you to keep up-to-date. Click here to find out how.
If you have any problems accessing your emails then the CSD Service Desk is the first point of contact. If you do need assistance, please get in touch.
Student Intranet and News
The Student Intranet is your main gateway to online University services and information. It also gives you access to our University Student News Service where you can keep up to date with important things happening on campus including events, reminders about key actions you need to take during the academic year, opportunities, discounts and much more.
Take a look at the top news stories each day when you log in to make sure you are not missing anything which might be important.
My Liverpool App
Use the My Liverpool App to search and view events which are being run by the University and the Guild of Students.
The app gives you the ability to view events from across the University, create a personalised planner and access information and support. Features include:
- Up-to-date events listing
- Event reminders and notifications
- Personalised itinerary
- Maps to the various events on campus
- GPS tracker to help you find your way around campus
- Frequently asked questions
- Useful contacts
The app is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.
Social media
Whatever your platform of choice, you can keep up to date with what’s going on at Liverpool via our social media channels:
For the latest news and events you can also follow our academic departments and central services, including the Library, Careers & Employability, and Student Welfare and Guidance.
Our full social media directory, which includes links to all the main University channels, can be found here.
User generated content
We love to share content created by our community. We mainly do this through sharing or retweeting posts.
There may be times where we would like to use content produced by a user in one of our own original posts – for example, using a photo on channels that don’t offer a share function. If so, we will always get in touch to ask for permission and credit the user channel.
Our newest social media account is TikTok where you’ll find videos about University life, research and study. If you’d like to get involved with an area of study that fascinates you or a reason that you fell in love with Liverpool that needs sharing then we want to hear from you!
If you have an idea for a TikTok video, please email us at socialmedia@liverpool.ac.uk and our team will get back to you with advice and support to help you to create your video.
