Feel Good February – What’s on during Week 4

It’s now the final week of our Feel Good February programme, and below we’ve rounded up our pick of which events and activities to get involved with this week.

1. Sport Liverpool Campus 5k, Wednesday 23 February 12.30-2pm

Everyone of any ability can take part in this annual event, whether you choose to run or jog (5K) or walk (2.5K) around the course.

It begins and ends outside of the Sports and Fitness Centre, where changing facilities are available. The run will start at 12:30pm, but please arrive with enough time to warm up.

2. Fresh Thinking Day, Tuesday, 22 February 10am-2pm

On World Thinking Day, join us on University Square to make a smoothie of your choice.

Health Assured will be here to promote the benefits of their wellbeing app My Healthy Advantage which provides you access to a wealth of material and resource to support wellbeing. Find out all about their Student Assistance Programme, including how to access the helpline along with what the service can be used for.

No need to book – just turn up!


3. Sport Liverpool Crazy Golf on Campus, Tuesday 22 February 12-4pm

With 9 holes featuring obstacles that include the Helter Skelter; the Windmill; the Lighthouse; the Dice; the Road Ramp and Noughts & Crosses; who will you take on?

No sign up is needed and we will provide score cards!


4. Book Club, Wednesday 23 February 12-1pm

Join us for a library book club meeting to discuss the book that YOU voted for: The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa. To borrow a digital copy, visit Overdrive, or download the Libby App.

5. Tate Liverpool tour, Wednesday 23 February 3-5pm

Come and explore the Tate Liverpool and visit one of the most iconic art galleries in the city; from contemporary to historical art to sculpture, you’re sure to find something eye-catching!

6. LFC Foundation: Student Mental Health Workshop, Thursday 24 February 11am-12pm and 5-6pm

This workshop is a bespoke, student-focused mental health workshop delivered by the LFC Foundation mental health team. The workshop will cover:

  • Understanding mental health conditions, covering the most reported student mental health conditions
  • Developing better coping strategies, exploring the importance of the little things to improve and maintain good mental health
  • How to build resilience to challenges: Why do some people cope better with challenges than others? Learn more about how you can build better resilience.
  • How to have a conversation about mental health: Talking about mental health can be difficult, but so can supporting others around you. Find out some top tips and advice on how to have a conversation about mental health.

7. Hedgehog Friendly Campus Introduction, Thursday 24 February 2-3pm

Hosted by hedgehog expert (the best job ever!) Zoe Chapman from our very own Ness Gardens you can find out about these fascinating, prickly creatures and what is happening to encourage their spread and wellbeing on campus. You will also be shown how you can get involved in the project yourself.

8. Cycle Day with Dr Bike, Thursday 24 February 10am-2pm

The Sustainability Team and Campus Support are hosting an event for all cyclists, or those considering cycling!

Join us on Guild Walk to find out more about the University’s  Cycle to Work Scheme and bike safety on campus. Peloton Liverpool will also be on campus to carry out free repairs and maintenance for staff and student cyclists. Campus Support will be offering free bike registration on the National Cycle Database as well as discounts, giveaways and lots more.


9. Dodgeball Turn Up & Play, Thursday 24 February 4-6pm

If you have ever wanted to try Dodgeball then come along to our free session from 4-6pm every Thursday throughout February.

Dodgeball is a fun, fast paced and exciting game so bring along some friends or join in this team sport to meet new people!

No sign up is needed just turn up to play.
