Top places to celebrate Graduation on campus

Graduation is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all of your hard work at university. We’ve created some extra special spaces to share the fun with your friends and family across campus. Here are our top spots…

  1. Abercromby Square – Definitely one of the most picturesque places on campus, during graduation week Abercromby Square will be home to a marquee hosting receptions complete with live music at various times. Find out more about your school’s reception time on the timetable. Some schools make their own reception plans so check the information you’ve received from them if your school isn’t listed. On the square, you’ll also find giant deckchairs and a 10ft golden canopy tree, perfect for photos!
  2. Yoko Ono Lennon Centre – have you got extra family and friends who’d like to watch you graduate in real time? If so, our ceremony live stream in the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre has got this covered. Guests don’t need a ticket and ceremonies will be streamed in Lecture Theatre 1.
  3. Guild Walk – head to Guild Walk between the Guild and Sports Centre for our Alumni Walk of Fame and the perfect photo opportunity in front of Paul Curtis’ Eurovision mural, plus deckchairs and swing seats to relax in.
  4. Food and drink pop-ups – all the excitement and (perhaps!) nerves are likely to leave you and your guests peckish. We’ve got this covered with a range of food and drink pop-ups dotted around central campus – you’ll be able to choose between Doogal’s Donuts on the Square, crepes and rosé near Sydney Jones and Mr Whippy on the Square too. The Management School, Sydney Jones and Yoko Ono Lennon cafes are all also open throughout graduation week.
  5. Guild courtyard bar and The Sphinx bar – If you fancy some liquid refreshment during the day, the Guild’s courtyard bar and The Sphinx bar are both open during graduation week.
  6. Photo opportunities across campus – any graduation celebration wouldn’t be complete without the obligatory photos. We’ve made sure there’s plenty of places across campus to get the all-important shots, whether you share them to social or keep them for the family album! For a full rundown of where to head for these, take a look at our top spots for your graduation shots piece. Remember to share your celebratory photos with us on social using the hashtags #LivUniGrad, #Classof2023 and #TeamLivUni
