3 wellbeing events for World Mental Health Day next week

Next Tuesday, 10 October is World Mental Health Day and to mark the day, our Student Wellbeing Team are offering 3 dedicated events designed to give you the chance to relax, unwind and connect with others in a friendly, no-pressure atmosphere.

Campus walk –  Monday, 9 October 2-3.30pm

Getting outside is one of the quickest and easiest ways to reset, de-stress and clear your mind. Join the Wellbeing Team next Monday for a walk taking in campus at a gentle pace. Meet in Alsop building just before 2pm.

Board Games group – Tuesday 10th October 1-4pm

Let out your competitive side or just play for fun! The Board Games group is an informal group where you can immerse yourself in an afternoon of relaxed fun. Come to reception in the Alsop building to play.

Pebble painting – Wednesday 11th October 3.30-4.30pm

Art and creativity are well-known for their mental health benefits. Come and uncover your artistic side with pebble painting next Wednesday – you don’t need to be Picasso, this all about finding a new way to switch off and express yourself.  Find the session in the Rendall building, Seminar Room 6.

Can’t make these sessions? The Wellbeing Team run a regular programme of weekly relaxation activities for you to enjoy. Find more info on the full schedule for October on their webpages.

Student Services – We’re here if you need us

Our Student Services are dedicated to supporting you throughout your time at Liverpool. You can find them in the Student Life centre in the Alsop Building on University Square. Made up of several teams, they can help no matter what comes your way. You can reach them by calling them on 0151 795 1000 or visit the Student Services website for information on how to book appointments.

They can support you with Mental Wellbeing, Disability Support, Money Advice & Guidance, Visa and immigration support and Report + Support, our dedicated tool for you to report inappropriate behaviour.

In a crisis now? Immediate mental health support

In an emergency, or if you don’t feel that you can keep yourself safe, go to accident and emergency (A&E), or call 999 for an ambulance. If you’re not in need of immediate medical treatment and unsure what the best option is for you, call NHS 111 who can advise you.

We also strongly recommend you see your GP as soon as possible.

If you have thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life but do not feel you are at immediate risk, Student Services offers a range of support that includes wellbeing advisors, counsellors, and the mental health advisory Service.
