Report + Support: reporting unacceptable behaviour

report and support

We hope you are enjoying your first semester at our University. Whether you are a new or returning student we want you to feel settled, safe and supported during your time with us.

Whilst we work hard to create a positive and inclusive environment for all our students, we encourage you to report any of the following to us:

  • Bullying
  • Harassment
  • Hate crime
  • Sexual misconduct
  • Assault including domestic violence
  • Discrimination

How to report incidents

Our Report + Support online tool has been designed for you to let us know about any incidents of the above nature. It’s quick and easy to use, and you can share your contact details with us, or tell us something has happened anonymously if you prefer.

If you choose to share your contact details, you will be contacted by a Wellbeing Practitioner from our Student Services team who will be able to provide you with advice and guidance. This won’t initiate a formal complaints process and any information you provide will remain confidential unless we believe there is a serious threat to your own or someone else’s safety.

The Report + Support webpages also include a range of support articles and advice for anyone who is experiencing harassment, bullying, hate crime or assault, including sexual and domestic violence, and those who are supporting them. You might find our wellbeing information useful too.

For more information about the tool, please visit our Report + Support webpage.

In need of immediate help?

If you are in immediate danger or seriously injured, call 999.

If you call 999 and are unable to talk, press 55 or tap when prompted and your call will be transferred to the police. The police will usually be able to find your location. If you don’t press 55 or respond, your call could be ended.

Should you be on campus and feel unsafe, call Campus Support on 0151 794 2222. You can also go to your nearest University building and ask someone to phone Campus Support for you. If you have the Safezone app, you can press a button for immediate assistance.

Do not intervene in any situation if it is not safe to do so. It’s important not to put yourself at risk.
